Technology, innovation and the transition to a lower carbon future is likely to re-shape the oil and gas sector in the next decade. Against this backdrop, the industry will need an increasingly adaptable and technology enabled workforce to ensure the UK retains its position as a world leader in the energy business.

RGU and OPITO are working on behalf of industry and other stakeholders to develop a new UKCS Skills Strategy, aimed at highlighting the changing skills requirement for the basin over the next decade. The skills strategy will take into account the likely impact of the energy transition, the changing shape of the UKCS, the increased focus on internationalisation and the possible impact of technology & innovation.

This study follows on from the recent UKCS Workforce Dynamics review, which was published in May this year. The result of UKCS Skills Strategy will be published in Q2 2019.

As part of the research, this online survey has been designed to capture your input on the possible future skills requirements for the sector and for your job/your discipline specifically.

We would really appreciate your support to complete this important industry survey.
